Another Poll - More Quiet Fans!

Post by GHz » Thu Dec 29, 2005 11:29 pm

Hey guys, I've contacted Yate Loon and I'm thinking about making a bulk purchase of their quietest fans in 80mm, 92mm, and 120mm sizes. I know everyone likes the D12SL-12, but would you guys be interested in the 80mm and 92mm varieties?

Thanks for your candid input, it's appreciated. Sorry if I'm asking too many questions... I'm really serious about this endevour, so I want to make sure I get the best fans possible (well, best & cheap!).

Well, most modern Cases, HS’s and PSU’s are making use of (the now almost standard) 120mm fan mountings. Majority of SPCR fanatics will most likely only buy the ‘D12SL-12’. There are however still a few folk here that make use of 80mm fans, thus my suggestion would be to, buy bulk of the ‘D12SL-12’ and get maybe 50 odd 80mm ones, just to test the market. If they all sell within the first week, then you can always order more, or maybe work on a pre-order basis only.

I definitely would. For some applications the D12SL-12 is just too big, and if you have an 80mm fan on a straight-through PSU like I have the only option is to swap it out for a quieter 80mm.
