The 120 looks like an ADDA CFX-120S. I didn't check the other two.

There're actually another 3 more: Arctic Fan 8, 9 and 12, apparently with the same kind of vibration absorption found in Freezer 7/64 Pro.

How well do these semi-frameless fans work as exhausts?

I'd be interested in obtaining a sample. Are there any retailers that carry the 120mm versions?

Look good on paper. Interesting that the frameless ones are rated for lower voltages.

Too bad these can only be installed 1 way and it is to suck the air out. If they blow too, i'd get these right away. But then again, no where in the U.S. websites carry these. I only found an Austrailian website with them, but they don't ship internationally.

Looks like they're brand new. And they look very, very nice. Perhaps they'll do another version for airflow going the other way.
They're also using the same fans (#8, 9 and 12) on some of their "silencer" and "freezer" lines of heat-pipe CPU coolers. And the prices don't hurt, either -- roughly half the price of the Nexus fans.

From the conclusion of that review:
Cons:
Only pulls air out, can’t blow
I don't understand this comment at all. Any fan that can suck, by definition must blow, otherwise where is all the air going? A fan is a device for sucking in air from one side and blowing it out the other; it's a complete nonsense to say that a fan can suck but not blow. It doesn't exactly give me a lot of faith in the expertise of the reviewer or the quality of the rest of the review.

He could have said it better, but im shure you understood from the review that the fan cant be mounted in the front of the case.

It's just a mounting issue. I can certainly see, for example, that you could remove the existing 120 mm fan from the top inside of a power supply and replace it with one of these fans mounted on the outside of the power supply, blowing in.
In fact, if these fans really are very quiet, I have a plan to use one mounted to an internal case divider, blowing air from one section to the next.

I reviewed 6 120mm fans, the AF12 included
enjoy:)
no specs comparison as sole test either btw;)
tested at 12/7.5v/5v, temp recorded with ninja Scythe , noise recorded at 30cm dBA meter

Thank you for the review!
The Arctic Fan 12 does very well indeed, especially considering the recommended price of $10.00.

That's another one nice review that I'd like to read jmke!
sound that the AC fan does not really get the place though the they had put more engineering effort ,but I think it's worth the airflow/temp difference for they those want 'performance' fan,I guess it also pricey compared to 'standard' fans even the Nexus one
can it start reliably below 5V?

all fan spun up at 5V perfectly without problem; the only weird experience I had was with the 0.85A Titan fan which almost melted the resistance on the 7.5v test:)

The only problem I've seen thus far is that the Arctic Cooling fans aren't available from retailers, at least not yet.
Did they give you any time frame for availability, jmke?

I'm in line for a 120mm as soon as its out in the US.
pity you can't mount in front....otherwise, I would pick up 2 of the 92mm as well....
BTW, AC has been on a roll with their VGA coolers, Freezer Pro and now this.

"The Arctic Fan will be available after middle of Jan. 06. For dealer
address please consult

because I don't know which dealer will sell them."

Would the Arctic Fan 9 be compatible with the clips on the si-97a?

I don't think so no, the fan has a custom designed bracket and the clips would not be able to hold onto anything, I think you'll need to find some DIY method to make them fit.
they are designed to be outtake case fans, not cpu fans.

I've just finished testing that cooler "Alpine 64" for my HSF roundup, very good performance/noise ratio with low heat output CPU's. (Athlon 64 3200+ Clawhammer @ stock speeds and voltage)

Sweet, I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for that review. Nice 120mm fan roundup btw, I bought 3 of those Global WINs and they are silent in my hand at 7v but I haven't put it in a case yet. Are the 80mms any good? A pitty Global WIN doesn't make a 92mm version.

I've only tested 120mm series for now; 80/92mm roundup is on TO DO list

I bought an Arctic Fan 9 and an Arctic Fan 12. The 9 is mounted on a Thermalright XP-90 CPU heatsing to cool an AMD A64 X2 3800+ and the 12 replaced an Antec Tri Speed fan in a P150 case.
The Arctic Fan 12 appeared to cause intermittant system crashes in XP when connected to the motherboard system fan header - the Arctic Fan 12 comes with only a 3 pin connector. I say "appeared to cause system crashes" because the crashes ceased when I powered the fan via a molex to 3 pin adapter and I have not re-connected the fan to the mobo to see if the crashes start again.
The crashes happened with 2 mobos, an ASUS A8N-VM CSM and a MSI RS480M2-IL. It took a week of swapping in and out components (memory, mobos, CPUs ) as the crashes were infrequent, until I tried the alternate connection for the system fan and the system has run reliably for 2 days since the change.
Apart from the system crashes, the fans perform well, quiet at lower speeds while moving a lot of air. The 12 is now on a thermistor controlled circuit (C. P. Emma's) and works as advertised.
