Beige fan controller

Beige Multi fan controller or baybus

Does such thing even exist?

All the one I see are black or silver, having a beige case I would rather have one the same colour.

They are rare, but do exist. Another option is to get a different color one, and hack up one of your beige bay covers to make a new face plate for it. Alternatively, if you can find a hard drive sled with the right color faceplate use that and do a 'guts transplant'

I don't know if they still have it or not, but PCMODS had 'rheobus kits' in their going out of business sale that I think were intended to use your existing faceplates. Check the for sale forum for the pointer.

Try the Digital Doc 5 -- I believe this product is still offered in either beige, black, or silver (I own an un-used beige one that I never got to installing). The build quality is great and the LCD has a backlight...You might wanna check out some reviews on it.

I am not equipped to mod a a beige panel to receive a baybus or rheobus

So guess I will have to settle for a silver or black 3.5

Vantec NXP-205 or 305.

Btw does anyone is the one from ADPmods buzz?

Or is there a solution where the jnobs would be on a pci slot?

I know but I couldn't find it anywhere in canada.
Anyway I just need 3 or 4 knobs I don't really need the digital display.

/Edit

Correction bigfootcomputers has some Digital Doc 5 PLUS in beige ( $84.98 ) but it is just a monitoring panel you don't seem to be able to change fan voltage.

They also have some 3.5" UC-A3FATR2-WH Enermax in white but it only has 2 channels and I need at least 3, ideally 4.

Correct, the Digidoc is mostly a temp and RPM monitoring device, which does not have the ability to change fan speeds. It does have the ability to turn fans on and off depending on the temps, but I've heard that the resulting fan cycling is more annoying than even a fairly loud constant fan.

I would use a Digidoc mostly for temp monitoring, or figure out some way to have it drive a secondary temp sensitive (or manual) controller for the fan so as to get a speed ramp effect.

It is a pity that they only do on / off control because otherwise it is a wonderful device, I just wish there was some easy way to hack it (or if MacPower offered a version) with temp sensitive speed control instead of just on and off.

It would seem like MacPower could do something like that easily enough since they already have the temp sensors and the display stuff, but they don't :(

Look like I finally found a beige controller.

Mutant Mods' Beige 5.25 Bay Fan Speed Controller

Anyone familiar with this product?

Found a short review at Hardware-HQ, it's for the black version but it also comes in beige and silver.

http://hardware-hq.com/review9.php

Not very detailed in term of Voltage and watts per channel or buzzing.

Description says
4 speed levels, low, medium, high and off, each level results in an RPM difference of approximately 25%
So the first setting being 12v what would be the 2 others?

you should go for the ATN-TP-02E from SVC - i just got a beige one with some panaflos, and it was a great deal, here in 2 days... the review is here on the site... and it's only $11.49 plus shipping...

Bytewize has the Startech for $18.89 Can

I like the fact the ATN-TP-02E fit in a 3.5" bay but I don't have any connector on my motherboard left to use the 2 USB port, and unlike the ATN-TP-02E the Startech allow to turn off the fans.

So I guess I am going to take the risk and get the startech hoping it won't buzz.

Just in case what shop in canada carry the ATN-TP-02E in beige? bigfootcomputers has it but only in black and silver.

Got some details for the Mutant Mods' Beige 5.25 Bay Fan Speed Controller
The actual voltage that is applied to each setting
is as follows:
High 12V
Medium 9V
Low 6V

The number of Watts for each setting is as follows:
High 5W
Medium 4W
Low 3W
Got one this morning fit nicely in my case and I didn't notice any buzzing.

Is 3 W enough for 2 x Silenx 80mm 12v 0.07A - 0.09A?
