Sorry but this is one of those, "has anyone bought one of these etc etc..." posts.
However, all I want to know is this:
Which of the socket 754 boards on the market have 3 fan connectors that can all be controlled via speedfan or another piece of monitor/control software?
Thank you, and goodnight

Abit KV8 Pro-3rd Eye with uGuru doesn't support any readings or fanadjustments at all and BIOS will only control between 8-12V. It is not THAT much of voltagechange, but it could be enough so that a fanmate will work.

MSI K8N Neo Platinum, works for CPU and NB fans.
Gigabyte K8NNXP you can turn the fans off, and I *think* setting from 1-3% would change the fan speed.

aopen ak89 max:
Has 4 or 5 fan conectors.
3 have rpm monitoring
2 speeds avialable in speedfan
I think speed two controls 2 fans while speed one controls one fan.
It could be that more fans are controlled, but i havent needed it yet.
