AcoustiFan 92 vs SilenX 92 fan
SilenX 92mm:
Fan Speed: 2000 RPM
Air Flow: 36 CFM
Noise Level: 14 dBA
AcoustiFan 92mm
Speed @ 12 v 1400 - 2000 RPM
Noise 18.2 - 25.9 dB(A)
Flow 26.7 - 41.7 CFM
The specs are similar, wich one is better, in terms of noise?
I don't want to buy the Nexus fan, because i need more CFM (in summer time, in my room, the air is very warm). And i want to have some control over it, with my Sunbeam Rheobus...

All noiseblocker fans use double ball bearings and therefore have significantly more bearing noise than most fans specified on this site.davidstone28 wrote:Are the 92mm noiseblocker fans any good?
You will find them a quieter and more powerful (airflow) alternative to Vantec Stealth series fans but then who uses a Stealth?
I have 3 Silenx 92mm fans
They are ok but not perfect ( they are miles better than the fans they replaced - made by Sunon ) but I personally prefer a good Panaflo , but these are becoming harder to find as their Quality Control seems to be diminishing
I do not have access to globe fans so can not comment on them
I have not had any clicking problems with the Silenx but they are far from new .
I have heard a lot about the newer ones and it is not all that good .
Silenx ( the Company ) is not very popular in these forums Due to the Owner
or one of his reps doing silly things on the forums here.
Silenx do not make the fans but rebrand them .
So from what I have read in these posts combined with my experience with
the Silenx fans I would say go with the Globes
Silenx are more like 25db than 14 , or whatever their spec. is
14db at 4.5v maybe?

I actually have the C, not CT. Acoustifan says the c version does make slightly more noise then the CT. My older SilenX 92mm was quieter then the Acoustifan, but not any of my newer SilenX fans. I have 3 92mm Panaflo's, all China made, all louder then my other 92mm fans.Edward Ng wrote:I guess you're going to have to see if Sizzle is willing to cut his thermistor to do a comparison, then; I have no SilenX or Nexus 92mm fans to test against for you.

Now, I love my 92mm Nexus fans, but they don't push as much air as those other 92mm fans if that is what you are looking for.

Good enough for me, but it's DG who was most interested; let's see how things work out for him.Sizzle wrote:I actually have the C, not CT. I've tried the Panaflos (3 of them) and i'm not very impressed by them. The quitest of them, still has a mini airplane noise (it's not air noise) and a little chu-chu, when listened with my ear close to it.
Anyway, there are not that bad, this way i just found out that my Evercool 120mm fan, has broke down (loud bearing noise, at 4-5v) and also my vga silencer (bearing noise at 5v)...
I am not happy at all.

Right now, as far as silent fans go, I am only happy with Nexus. Mind you, at 12 volts they do have some air noise, but not more any anyone else. Undervolted, they are amazing. Move little air, but in the right setup, it would not be a problem.DG wrote:I've tried the Panaflos (3 of them) and i'm not very impressed by them.
