http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_2533.html
anybody with experience of it?
Also, anybody know anything about Vantec Stealth 92mm fan, which I have just ordered to go with my Thermalright XP-90? is it quiet, and will it fit?

silenx lie
I have 2x 120mm fans and 1x 92mm (total waste of £48 )
there are no where near 14dba @ 12V, and dont push enough air when undervolted.
My 92mm panaflo is much smoother at lower voltages than the silenx and seems to push more air
the nexus 120mm will be as quiet at possible at 12V (only £12 each too) and undervolt marvelously, but their cfm topend (40cfmish) isnt great if your system has poorly planned case-flow

Welcome to the first mistake EVERY silencing enthusiast makes at least onceas530 wrote:Also, anybody know anything about Vantec Stealth 92mm fan, .....is it quiet
I don't have any experience with the 92mm version but ALL Stealth fans are anything but. It'll give you very decent airflow and compared to the jetplanes out in the field yes it's quiet. But it's nowhere near anything we usually talk about here.
All vantec series have double ball bearings that click horrendously. Although they have decent airflow at full 12V, noise at that level is just unbearable. And when undervolted, the clicking remains and the airflow lost is tremendoust.
I kind of recall someone mentioning the 92mm being the worst of the series
Sorry to bear bad news. But really. EVERYONE makes that mistake once
oh damn. thanks for the advice though, i'll try to get a Nexus 92mm - will it fit the XP-90 clips? are there any quiet 92mm's on http://www.overclockers.co.uk?[/url]
I had an 80 mm silenx fan that WAS very quiet, but after a few months it started making a high pitched whine. I replaced it with a $6 arctic cooling fan and it is just about as quiet.
I also have a 300W silenx power supply that I used for 2 months and then it burned up. They gave me a warranty replacement, but by the time it arrived, I had purchased a Seasonic and couldn't be happier. My silenx PSU is sitting unopened.
If you check my previous posts, I was initially so thrilled with silenx products that people acccused me of working for the company. After a little more experience with them, I can say I'm really disappointed.

Re: silenX
I'll echo that. I picked up the 80mm, put it to cooling a Sempron 2600+ and it's the noisiest fan in the case. The 27cfm is true enough, the 21dBA is a work of fiction. An acceptable noise level at <75% power (with Speedfan) or 7-volted as a case fan. Mine doesn't click, but I'll be swapping it ASAP.burcakb wrote:...ALL Stealth fans are anything but.
