Zalman FB123 bracket question.

Post by Sweendog » Sat May 14, 2005 8:34 pm

OK, so I've seen that several people are using this thing to mount fans, but for the life of me, I can't see how it attaches to the case, and I can't find any forum topics that have working images of it installed. I'm trying to figure out the best way to mount a fan to blow on my piping hot Nvidia 4 chipset, and wondering if this thing will somehow allow me to position a small (40-80mm) fan of some kind.

Does anyone have pictures of this thing mounted in a case?

Thanks!

One way to attach it is on the PCI slot screws. You can use it on top of an existing card isntalled in the slot, or on a slot cover that has a screw.

It screws onto the PCI card brackets:

Thanks guys! I think this thing may give me what I need. In the mean time, I reconfigured my fans, moving my Nexus 120 off the CPU heatsink, and the 3-speed Antec fan onto it. By cranking that fan to full speed, it lowered the temp about 6 degrees from the extra airflow. I can hear the difference though, so I think I'll be grabbing one of those things.

Take care,
