looking for 2 60mm exhaust fans
i have changed to a small form factor case, and a scythe ninja mini. im hoping to run the heatsink without a fan. and rely on the slight negative pressure of 2 exhaust fans to cool the system effectively.
I dont want the fans to move loads of air, just enough to move some hot air out of the system .
what model fan would you all recommend for this setup?
Thanks Mark19891989

I have two of those in my SilverStone LC-10 I don't know if it is the case or the fans but they do not push a ton of air.... they are quiet. at 12v very quiet.mark19891989 wrote:hey, thanks for the reply, il look in to getting the Vantec Stealth SF6025L.
.
but as far as your post sounds like they would work for what you want.

I've never known Vantecs to be quiet. Perhaps my experience with them is dated.
It's going to be hard to achieve SPCR-spec quietness with 60mm while effectively cooling anything but the lowest-watt CPUs, and in that case I would try to just go passive. You got a E5200 @ 3.75ghz in there? Time for some modding.

I have one of the aforementioned Vanteq Stealth 60mm fans that I bought back before I found SPCR. It seemed quiet to me at the time. But then again so did my ThermalTake Volcano heatsink. I've since plugged it in and it doesn't sound particularly quiet now. Could be partly because the bearings have worn out so that it was better when it was new. But it does use ball bearings which tend to make more noise then others.
If I was going to buy a 60mm fan today, I would probably go with a Panaflo/NMB or a SilenX. The Panaflo will more than likely need a fan controller to slow it down as it's probably too noisy at 12V. The SilenX looks pretty good, but I wouldn't trust their rated dBA. But it looks to have a good speed, the price isn't bad and it comes with silicon fan mounts. I haven't ever tried either, I'm just making some guesses that they would be better than the Vantec.

i have steeped down my oc to 3.3ghz (highest i can get at stock volts, temps are good, peak 52*C at load with the mini ninjas heat fan running at 1300rmp)bartfriend wrote:i am going to take the vantecs out of my case when i get the 60mm - 80mm adapter i ordered. I can mail the fans off to you if you would like them. Just need your address and a little bit of time to get the adapter and new fan installed.

Thanks for the offer, how much would you want for the fans?
