I scanned the models of Enermax 620W at newegg and came across some disturbing reviews of the liberty psu dying after a year or two. you may not want to change out the fan if you have a liberty as this could make any possible problems happen faster. if you do swap the fan, then measure the temperature of the exhaust before and after the swap under as similar conditions as possible to determine if you may be making the psu hotter. The Nexus seems to be reviewed well on this site, but I don't have any of these fans. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply, eit412

This is the fan in the PSU, http://www.globefan.com/products_detail.php?Pid=2373.

Looking at the air flow figure, I am inclined to fo the Thermaltake or Coolink ones.

A safe fan choice depends on your maximum load for the PSU.
If your max load is under 300W, then a 1,200 rpm fan might be OK.
To be safe and not sorry I'd recommend a Scythe S-Flex F.
It's rated at 1,600 rpm but should start at ~600 rpm and has high quality bearings.

Tnx.

According to extreme PSU calc, my system load is 202W.

I already ordered the Fractal Design PSU. 1000rpm 15db and 38CFM. Lets see what happens.

It's too slow, it won't spin at boot unless it has a 3.6v starting voltage, which means about 200 RPM. Bad choice. The S-Flex F was the best one you could have chosen.

Parappaman, I think the Fractal design revs at its 12V speed all the time?

The Scythe is 28db! Might as well stick with the default fan in the Enermax PSU then.

If you connect the fan to an external fan connector, then yes, it will run at full speed and probably will be a bit quieter than the stock fan. But if you want to connect it to the internal fan header (which will be the best choice), then no, it won't run at full speed all the time, and the Scythe would have been a much better choice due to the fact that it starts reliably at that voltage and goes at a nice and low 600 RPM.

I also bought a Scythe Infinity so that will come with the Scythe fan with 1200 rpm ,23.5db and 46.5CFM.

I will test with both fans just in case and also monitor temps.
