It is piece of solid sheet or (whatever it is formed) that GREATLY reduces vibration, or considered one of best isolation method short of more exotic method. Many high end audio equipment usually uses this material on various parts as well as electronics used in environment where shock and vibration might cause failure.
It is much much better absorber than polyurethene, etc. However, the cost or availability is not as good. One common use we see are higher priced shoe insole. (they use harder one for form than what we should be looking into so it will be even softer).
You can find more about it by going http://www.sorbothane.com
I've been browsing around and find it disappointing that most places will way overcharge for this stuff as it is for rather specialized market. (cheapest I found was 12"x12"x1/8" for $15.95 before shipping etc which isn't bad but too thin to utilize it in all it's glory)
Now the product i have in mind is 5"x5"x1/2" for $9 in quantities of 25-99 (higher number much cheaper) Direct from them before shipping.
Another option would be 5"x5"x1/4" for $5.58 in quantities of 25-99 (if more price reduces decently)

Obviously I have no use for 25 of it
