P180/182 What's the difference?
Thanks
P.S. Also can you use this PSU with this case?http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817139001
I'm a little confused how the airflow would work with this.

p182 has:
1) water cooling holes at the back
2) about 1/2" more room behind the mobo panel for easier cable routing
3) some additional holes/spaces in the mobo panel itself (like 1 on top, 2 on side) for easier cable routing
4) some zip ties at the back for...better cable routing again
5) different color - only gunmetal (darker gray) or a mirrored SE edition
6) external fan switch for the rear tricools, located at the back
7) and finally...the SE edition comes with a fancy penlight device that helps illuminate the inside when you're tinkering during the night
otherwise than that...the P182 is structurally the same as the P180, chassis, sound dampening, fan sizes/locations, etc..
to put it simply...the P182 offers better cable management that the P180 lacked.
and yes...that Corsair HX520 works w/ both cases
*spcr has a great review of the P182 and a comparison between the two fyi

Hi all,
I want to see what reaction you guys have to some comments I read on a the tomshardware forum.
Some users purchased a p180 online and received a black case (not p182 gray) with water cooler holes, external fan switches, and cable management that seems to be identical to a p182. However, the case came in a p180 box. They think that Antec is shipping a new version of the p180 updated with p182 cable management etc.
I want to purchase a p182 because I care a lot about the cable management, but it's a little too expensive for me. I found a deal on the p180 ($50 after rebate at Fry's), and I want to know whether I should expect to receive a "classic" p180 case, or a updated p180 case that might have the cable management updates see on the p182. Has any one experienced the above?
Thanks a bunch!

What I've read is that early 182's shipped in 180 boxes, with black not gunmetal finish. I've seen the gunmetal version. I bought a "180" and mine has the 2 WC holes, the fan switches, and the better cable routing, so I believe this. On top of that I got a rebate deal on my 180 when I bought it, though Antec has not yet sent me my rebate so I need to ping them.
If you can find one at a local store you can tell if it's an early 182 by the presence of the 2 WC holes in the back where there would normally be a ventilated area on a 180P.

My P180B has all the above featureslaguz1 wrote:p182 has:

Just to swoop in and clear things up....
First, there were the P180 and P180B. Then came v1.1 of the same cases.
Next came P182 and P182SE. Finally, the P180 and P180B were upgraded to match the P182 and P182SE.
At this point in time (as well as for the last 6+ months), there have been four exactly identical cases. These cases are the P180, P180B, P182, and P182SE. There are very few differences between the four, and I will name them:
P180: SILVER exterior, metal-colored interior
P180B: BLACK exterior, metal-colored interior
P182: GUNMETAL BLACK exterior, metal-colored interior
P182SE: MIRROR FINISH exterior, BLACK-colored interior, flexible snake light (installed in upper area)
All other features described in this thread are present in all four of these cases. Those are the only differences aside from the box.
Note that the newest version of P180 and P180B still say "v1.1" on the box, so there is no way of telling whether it is the P182 version or the 1.1 version.
Hope that clears it up, and I hope others find this post when searching for answers.
